About the role
Sofitel Wellington is seeking a dedicated Houseperson to join its night‑shift team. Working from 11 pm to 7:30 am, you will ensure that all public and back‑of‑house areas are spotless, contributing to the luxury experience guests expect from a five‑star hotel.
Key responsibilities
- Clean all back‑of‑house areas, excluding the kitchen and stores.
- Maintain the lobby, restaurant, conference spaces, locker rooms, and staff/public washrooms.
- Perform programmed and regular cleaning duties as allocated.
- Operate, clean, and report any defects on cleaning equipment.
- Assist with regular equipment stock‑taking and ensure high‑standard maintenance.
- Secure keys and restricted areas, following security procedures and reporting suspicious activity.
- Handle cleaning agents safely, complying with health‑and‑safety regulations and manufacturer instructions.
Required profile
- Availability for night shifts (11 pm‑7:30 am) and weekends.
- Full New Zealand working rights.
- Immaculate grooming and professional presentation.
- Warm, caring personality with previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (luxury hotel experience preferred but not essential).
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
