Gas Works Delivery Supervisor (Wellington)

About the role

Powerco is seeking a Gas Works Delivery Supervisor to oversee and coordinate customer‑initiated works, third‑party requests, routine maintenance and reactive repairs across its gas network in Wellington. The role acts as a critical link between Powerco and its Service Providers, ensuring work is scheduled, executed and delivered to high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate delivery of customer‑initiated works, third‑party requests, routine maintenance and reactive repairs within Powerco’s gas network.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Powerco and Service Providers, facilitating seamless work scheduling and stakeholder communication.
• Provide technical oversight, support problem‑solving during planning and execution, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Manage pricing, contracts and documentation for customer and third‑party works.
• Provide on‑call emergency response, incident reporting and risk mitigation to maintain network integrity.

Required profile

• Strong relationship‑management skills to collaborate effectively with Service Providers and external stakeholders.
• Proven experience in the gas or utility construction industry with a solid understanding of New Zealand construction regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities to address technical queries and issues.
• Effective coordination and supervision skills for scheduled and reactive maintenance activities.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities for managing contracts and documentation.
• Proactive approach to emergency response and incident management.

Required skills

• Knowledge of New Zealand construction regulations.
• Experience in gas or utility construction projects.
