Field Service Technician – Forklift Maintenance

About the role

Join Crown Equipment’s service team in New Plymouth and provide on‑site and workshop repairs for a diverse fleet of battery‑electric and internal‑combustion forklifts. You will work across the Taranaki region, supporting customers to keep their operations running smoothly while developing expertise on a wide range of forklift models.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field‑based and workshop repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on forklift equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel issues and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate status updates to customers.
• Collaborate with the Palmerston North workshop team to source parts and share technical knowledge.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and occasional overtime as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience with material handling equipment, auto‑electrical, diesel or motor‑mechanic work, or a related trade qualification.
• Strong customer‑focused attitude and ability to build rapport.
• Physically fit for manual handling tasks and able to work in varied field conditions.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to undergo pre‑employment medical, drug and alcohol testing.
