Director of International Students

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated International Director to lead and grow our international programme. This senior position provides strategic direction, ensures compliance and oversees operational management of the school’s international student programme.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the international programme.
• Ensure compliance with the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021.
• Manage recruitment, enrolment and retention of international students.
• Develop and maintain relationships with international agents, partner schools and stakeholders.
• Oversee student welfare, homestay arrangements and pastoral care systems.
• Manage budgets, reporting and programme performance.
• Lead and support the international team.
• Promote the school internationally, including travel as required.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in international education, preferably in the school sector.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand education systems and compliance requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and cross‑cultural skills.
• Experience in international marketing and student recruitment.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families and global partners.
• Strong organisational and financial management abilities.
• Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care excellence.
