Programme Manager – After School Programme

About the role

As a Programme Manager at sKids, you will be the friendly face that makes mornings and afternoons unforgettable for children at our Waihopai site. Working a minimum of 15 hours per week, you will lead a vibrant after‑school programme that blends arts, sports, science, and fun activities.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of daily programme operations from set‑up to pack‑down.
• Lead and manage large groups of children, handling a range of behaviours and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.
• Plan and deliver structured activities such as arts & crafts, sports, off‑site trips, baking, drama, and music.
• Proactively manage challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies.
• Build professional relationships with parents, caregivers, and school staff as the onsite point of contact.
• Coach, delegate to, and support Programme Assistants to maintain high standards.
• Prepare resources and set clear expectations for each session.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in New Zealand (visa or citizenship).
• Reliable transport to the Waihopai site.
• Proven leadership experience with children (e.g., teaching, coaching, camps).
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour in high‑energy groups.
• Experience owning programmes, teams, or operations.
• Strong communication skills with parents, schools, and team members.
• Age 20 +.
