Corporate Communications Specialist

About the role

Westpac New Zealand is looking for a Corporate Communications Specialist to join its People and Communications team. In this role you will help shape enterprise‑wide communications that connect employees to the organisation’s strategy, culture and performance. You will work across business units to deliver clear, engaging messages that support key priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of high‑impact communications for major enterprise priorities, including strategy updates, performance reports and large‑scale events.
• Translate complex organisational information into clear, engaging content for internal audiences.
• Communicate the company’s culture, employee engagement and experience initiatives.
• Lead the production of regular enterprise‑wide publications, sourcing content, shaping messaging and managing distribution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure consistency and relevance of all communications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar corporate communications or internal communications role.
• Strong writing and storytelling ability, with a knack for turning complex information into concise content.
• Good judgement and sensitivity when handling audience‑specific messages.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive, organised approach with the capacity to manage multiple priorities at pace.
• Preferred: tertiary qualification in communications or a related field and experience in video editing.
