Commis Chef – Lakeside Resort

About the role

Hilton is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join the culinary team at its lakeside resort in Queenstown, New Zealand. You will work in a dynamic, 5‑star environment, supporting multiple dining outlets and ensuring that every dish meets Hilton’s high standards of quality and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all mise‑en‑place for the day’s menus across hotel outlets.
• Assist in responding to guest queries promptly and professionally.
• Ensure food items are of high quality, stored correctly, and comply with safety standards.
• Support cost‑control initiatives and help improve gross profit margins.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed and maintain strong working relationships.
• Report any maintenance, hygiene, or safety hazards in line with hotel policies.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment in a similar role.
