Bulk Tanker Driver (Class 5) – Hamilton

About the role

We are seeking two experienced Class 5 drivers to join our Hamilton team for a specialist bitumen tanker operation during the summer season. This fixed‑term position runs from 1 September 2026 to 25 March 2027, with the possibility of extension based on workload.

Key responsibilities

• Operate modern bulk tanker vehicles to transport and deliver bitumen products across the North Island.
• Manage heating, pumping and transfer systems to ensure safe, temperature‑controlled handling.
• Perform pre‑start checks, calibrations and daily inspections of equipment.
• Complete deliveries efficiently while meeting all compliance and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate timing and site requirements with crews to keep projects on schedule.

Required profile

• Class 5 licence with Dangerous Goods endorsement (support available to obtain).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in line‑haul or heavy transport work.
• Experience with automatic gearboxes; bulk liquid or dynamic load handling is an advantage.
• Comfortable using phones or tablets for electronic reporting and logbooks.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to a fast‑paced environment and travel on short notice.
