Branch Manager – Kapiti Coast

About the role

Lead the Kapiti branch of Uzabus, overseeing the depot, workshop, drivers and the logistics that keep the fleet moving. This hands‑on position blends strategic planning with day‑to‑day operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor and manage a diverse team of drivers and workshop staff, fostering a safety‑first culture.
• Create and maintain rosters, vehicle maintenance (COF and PM schedules) and fleet readiness.
• Act as the primary contact for schools, the Ministry of Education and local community clients, handling tenders, quotes and feedback.
• Respond to on‑call needs, adapt plans quickly and resolve issues before they impact service.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing people and building a positive team environment.
• Current Driver Licence Class 1, 2 and P (Class 4 preferred).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and maintain a solution‑first mindset.
• Willingness to work a 10‑hour day starting at 5:30 am, Monday‑Friday, with on‑call responsibilities.
