Assistant Accountant/Junior Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Finance Business Partner to join our Commercial Finance team in Auckland. The role starts with a 60‑to‑90‑day intensive office onboarding period before moving to a hybrid work model, providing financial support and insight to branches and central stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Business Managers and cross‑functional teams in understanding financial systems and improving financial literacy.
• Partner with the Commercial Finance team to develop action plans addressing adverse trends and identifying growth opportunities.
• Use data analytics to generate insights that support key business decisions.
• Provide accurate forecasts, monitor risks and opportunities, and recommend appropriate actions.
• Analyse business drivers and KPIs to ensure performance aligns with expectations.
• Review and improve existing processes, document changes, secure stakeholder buy‑in and implement improvements.
• Participate in special projects as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Working towards a CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• High attention to detail and creative problem‑solving.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with financial and accounting ERP systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Competence in Google Suite – Sheets and Slides.
