Warehouse Team Leader

About the role

Goodman Fielder, a global food company behind iconic Kiwi brands such as Meadow Fresh, Puhoi Valley, Molenberg, Natures Fresh and Freya's, is hiring a Warehouse Team Leader for its Auckland Freight Centre (AFC) based in Penrose. The role supports the Warehouse Manager so that the warehouse runs at peak efficiency with customer satisfaction as the main goal, and helps implement the strategic plan for the warehouse and logistics network.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Warehouse Manager and lead change initiatives within the AFC team
• Resolve customer complaints, investigate root causes and align uniformed processes across the team
• Supervise, train and direct warehouse operations including loading/unloading, receiving, sorting, put away, picking and inventory control
• Ensure operational and HSE SOPs are documented and up to date, and handle administration for RMP requirements
• Manage workforce rostering, approve labour hours and annual leave, and manage the CHEP account
• Keep site maintenance and MHE to standard, create vendor purchase orders and reconcile vendor invoices
• Maintain accurate personnel records, training matrices and licences, and reconcile inventory discrepancies
• Train the team on day-to-day issues, coach and evaluate performance, and build a skill matrix

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience leading a pick-pack warehouse operation
• Previous FMCG experience preferred but not essential
• RMP and health and safety procedures preferred but not essential; MPI TFO approval preferred but not essential
