Vineyard Operator

About the role

Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, the Vineyard Operator is responsible for the day‑to‑day care of our award‑winning vineyards in Blenheim. The role combines machine operation, vine maintenance and safety oversight to ensure consistent quality across the harvest season.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures, use proper PPE and report incidents.
• Supervise seasonal workers during peak periods.
• Perform mulching, spraying, trimming, plucking and general vine maintenance.
• Maintain trellis systems and irrigation infrastructure.
• Support harvest operations, including frost fighting and other seasonal tasks.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about joining the wine industry and eager to develop skills.
• Team player with a can‑do attitude.
• Experience in vineyards or similar environments is preferred but not essential.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours or shifts during seasonal periods.
• Current driver’s licence and legal right to work in New Zealand.
