About the role
Stuff is a leading digital news brand reaching over two million New Zealanders each month. We are seeking a UX Designer who thrives on solving complex design challenges at national scale, blending research, interaction design, and emerging technologies to create impactful digital experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, editorial teams and analysts to uncover user needs and translate insights into intuitive designs.
- Lead the end‑to‑end UX process from discovery to delivery, including user research, usability testing, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping and interaction design.
- Turn qualitative and quantitative data into product opportunities and validate concepts through experiments and testing.
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design, contributing to and evolving the company’s design system.
- Work closely with engineering to implement designs and leverage AI‑powered tools to accelerate research and prototyping.
Required profile
- 4+ years of experience in UX, product or interaction design with a strong portfolio of end‑to‑end projects.
- Proven ability to conduct user research, usability testing and apply customer‑centred design principles.
- Experience using data and analytics to inform design decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools.
