Underground All Rounder Operator

About the role

Join OceanaGold’s underground team at the Macraes gold mine in Otago, New Zealand. This residential position offers a true work‑life balance while you operate a range of underground heavy machinery to support production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate development charge, production charge and remote loader equipment safely and efficiently.
• Run production drill, cable bolter, jumbo drill and spraymec units under supervision.
• Coordinate with trucking and bogging fleets to minimise downtime.
• Transport ore material via tele‑remote systems from stopes to ore passes and stockpiles.
• Load development headings, perform clean‑ups and move material to trucks.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, records and machinery documentation.
• Identify and implement productivity and safety improvements in stope bogging.
• Report any equipment damage immediately.

Required profile

• Previous underground mining experience.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
• Full, current driver’s licence with competence in manual vehicle operation.
