Tax Accountant

About the role

Baker Tilly Staples Rodway is seeking experienced tax professionals to join its Auckland Tax team. The role offers a blend of technical tax work and the chance to develop leadership capabilities within a supportive, hybrid‑working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drafting tax advice and preparing returns for a variety of entities.
• Reviewing financial statements and identifying tax risks.
• Providing guidance on international tax matters, including transfer pricing.
• Preparing or reviewing GST, FBT, NRWT, RWT and income tax returns.
• Managing client relationships, handling restructuring, due‑diligence projects and Inland Revenue audits.
• Collaborating with global Baker Tilly network members on complex tax issues.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of tax accounting experience.
• CA/CPA qualification or actively working towards it.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate tax concepts clearly to clients.

Required skills

• Tax compliance and advisory.
• GST, FBT, NRWT, RWT preparation.
• Transfer pricing knowledge.
• International tax fundamentals.
• Inland Revenue audit handling.
