Talent Advisor – Recruitment Specialist (6‑month fixed term)

About the role

Oranga Tamariki’s Enabling Services portfolio is seeking a Talent Advisor to join the Corporate Services team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role starts as soon as possible and will be based in Wellington, with three core office days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and flexibility for additional onsite work as required.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs and develop tailored sourcing strategies.
• Provide guidance on best‑practice selection, interview processes and candidate experience.
• Manage job postings and advertisements to maximise visibility.
• Proactively source and engage candidates through job boards, social media and professional networks.
• Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment for a variety of roles across the organisation.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience delivering full‑cycle recruitment, preferably with both agency and in‑house exposure.
• Proven ability to screen resumes, conduct interviews and assess candidate fit for niche corporate service roles.
• Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple stakeholders including senior leadership.
• Customer‑focused mindset with the capacity to work quickly and respond to stakeholder needs.
• Understanding and appreciation of cross‑cultural practices, particularly Māori cultural contexts.

Required skills

• Experience with recruitment technologies that support the full recruitment lifecycle.
• Proficiency in using job board platforms and social media for talent sourcing.
