About the role
The Talent Acquisition Consultant will support Auckland Council’s Community Wellbeing department, delivering end‑to‑end recruitment for a high‑volume portfolio of front‑line and operational positions. This fixed‑term role runs until 24 December 2026 and offers the chance to partner closely with hiring managers and senior leaders to attract talent that sustains essential community services.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and develop recruitment strategies.
- Create and manage job advertisements, shortlist candidates, conduct interviews and coordinate offer processes.
- Provide onboarding support and ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Collaborate with two other Talent Acquisition Consultants to meet the department’s hiring targets.
- Flexibly support other council departments or colleagues when workload demands shift.
Required profile
- Proven experience in high‑volume recruitment, preferably for front‑line or operational roles.
- Strong stakeholder‑management skills and ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a customer‑focused mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Required skills
- Knowledge of recruitment best practices and HR policies.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and job advertising platforms.
- Ability to analyse hiring data and contribute to continuous‑improvement projects.
