Surgical IOL Manager – New Zealand

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Surgical IOL Manager to lead the intra‑ocular lens (IOL) portfolio across New Zealand. You will act as the technical consultant for surgical facilities, driving revenue and market share while supporting customers with expert product knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Drive total IOL revenue and increase market share in the territory.
• Accelerate penetration of Presbyopia‑Correcting IOLs (PCIOLs).
• Facilitate the Accelerator program in selected accounts.
• Manage tender requirements in collaboration with internal teams.
• Work with Customer Operations on consignment and leverage MyAlcon360.
• Develop new business opportunities to meet sales targets.
• Maintain and grow relationships with key customers.
• Provide competitor activity feedback to line management.
• Uphold Alcon’s brand image and professional standards.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in optometry, orthoptics, science or business.
• 2‑3 years of customer‑facing experience in a surgical or medical‑device environment.
• Strong understanding of ophthalmic procedures and product technology.
• Proven track record of developing and executing sales strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with strong relationship‑management skills.
• Analytical, logical problem‑solving capability and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of intra‑ocular lens product portfolio.
• Experience with CRM applications, preferably Salesforce.
