Mental Health Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Rotorua Central. In this role you will support adult whaiora through periods of crisis and recovery, working closely with clinicians to deliver person‑centred care. The position offers a casual/vacation arrangement, allowing you to work locally within the Bay of Plenty.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct support to adult clients experiencing mental health challenges.
• Assist clients during crisis situations and help them navigate recovery pathways.
• Collaborate with clinicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
• Participate in team meetings and case reviews to contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience or genuine interest in mental health support.
• Strong empathy, compassion and ability to work with diverse individuals.
• Commitment to values‑led, supportive teamwork.
• Ability to work on a casual/vacation schedule on‑site.
