Student Administration Officer – University of Otago

About the role
The Student Administration team in the Academic Division supports more than 21,000 Otago students throughout their university journey. As an Administrator you will help ensure a smooth experience from admission to graduation, working across admissions, course management, examinations, scholarships and graduation portfolios.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, validate and process student applications and admissions data.
- Maintain accurate student records and update course enrolments.
- Coordinate examination timetables, invigilation and results processing.
- Support graduation ceremonies, scholarship administration and related reporting.
- Provide high‑quality customer service to students and staff, both in person and via phone/email.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple campus locations as needed.
Required profile
- Experience in a busy administration environment.
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
- Passion for delivering exceptional service to students and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
Required skills
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Solid PC literacy.
What we offer
- Full‑time (37.5 hrs/week) permanent and fixed‑term contracts based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
- Salary range $63,508 – $73,640 NZD per annum (not publicly displayed).
