Strategic Technology Architect

About the role

We are looking for a Strategic Technology Architect to shape the next‑generation architecture of Tait’s mission‑critical ecosystem. The role sits within the CTO Office and bridges technology foresight with real‑world customer value, guiding long‑term architectural direction across public safety, utilities and transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Define the future mission‑critical architecture spanning LMR, LTE/5G/6G, cloud/edge, AI‑enabled capabilities and multimodal sensing.
• Continuously investigate emerging technologies, assess their strategic fit and evaluate readiness, ecosystem maturity and adoption scenarios.
• Provide clear architectural recommendations that balance technical depth with operational constraints.
• Analyze market signals, competitive movements and adoption trajectories to inform timing and investment decisions.
• Partner with product and commercial teams to build strong business cases and align architectural direction with customer value drivers.
• Communicate technology concepts in terms of ROI, risk reduction and strategic impact.
• Guide internal innovation teams by defining architectural hypotheses and evaluation criteria for proof‑of‑concepts.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and standards groups to ensure alignment with the long‑term vision.
• Support the CTO with strategic assessments and technology direction proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Visionary systems thinker with a strong interest in emerging communications and AI technologies.
• Ability to translate technical trends into actionable architectural strategies.
