About the role
The Specialist Medical Practitioner will join the Alcohol and Drug Service North in Launceston, delivering both inpatient and outpatient care for individuals facing alcohol and drug challenges. This permanent, full‑time position operates within a supportive framework guided by the Area Manager and Statewide Specialty Director.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders to support the public and private sector Pharmacotherapy Program.
- Exercise independent clinical judgement in the delivery of patient care and related clinical duties.
- Uphold professional standards, integrity, and ethical practice in all aspects of work.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and quality outcomes for consumers and the broader Tasmanian community.
Required profile
- Qualified medical practitioner with experience in addiction medicine or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make sound clinical decisions.
- Strong commitment to person‑centred care, collaboration, and ethical practice.
- Motivated, driven, and ready to make a genuine impact on community health.
