Sonder Responder – Casual On‑Call Support

About the role

Sonder is expanding its on‑ground Response Network in New Zealand and is looking for dedicated individuals to join as casual responders. Based around Whangarei/Northland, you will provide immediate, in‑person assistance to members who need safety, medical, or mental‑health support, working alongside Sonder’s 24/7 Support Centre.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non‑emergency incidents as part of the on‑call roster.
• Coordinate with the Support Centre to ensure timely, appropriate assistance.
• Assist the Response Network Manager with stakeholder engagement, partnership nurturing, and training activities.
• Contribute input to operational procedures and network management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in military, law enforcement, emergency services, or mental‑health support.
• Strong decision‑making ability and empathy when dealing with distressed individuals.
• Flexibility to nominate personal availability and work a 24‑hour on‑call schedule.
• Willingness to travel within the Whangarei/Northland region for incident response.
