Smart Hands IT Field Engineer

About the role

Eil Global is seeking a Smart Hands IT Field Engineer to provide on‑site technical support for clients in New Zealand. The position is on a dispatch, on‑call basis and is offered as a freelance/part‑time role.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to ticket‑based requests for desktop and network issue resolution.
• Set up and maintain audio‑video conference rooms.
• Install, upgrade and patch operating systems on client machines.
• Perform software and hardware break‑fix tasks.
• Configure basic Wi‑Fi, LAN, WAN, switches and routers.
• Install and administer Microsoft Office suites.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling desktop and network troubleshooting.
• Ability to set up audio‑video conference equipment.
• Competence in OS installation, upgrades and patch management.
• Familiarity with basic networking concepts (Wi‑Fi, LAN, WAN, switch and router configuration).
• Strong business English skills and ability to communicate in the local language.
