Site Manager – Commercial Construction

About the role

Cook Brothers Construction is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead commercial construction projects in Wanaka. You will oversee projects from inception to completion, working closely with Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers while mentoring site teams and trade partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programme planning and drive efficient site scheduling.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Guide and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners to achieve high standards.
• Champion health and safety compliance and reporting.
• Take full ownership of site performance, proactively solving challenges.
• Balance hands‑on involvement with strategic oversight.
• Ensure quality delivery while meeting budgets and timelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years proven experience as a Site Manager in commercial construction in New Zealand or Australia.
• Strong site‑management foundations and excellent communication skills.
• Solid IT proficiency and ability to navigate complex conversations.
• Demonstrated leadership, trust‑building and team‑development capabilities.
