Senior Software Engineer – Christchurch

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Christchurch office and help build the core SaaS and API platform that powers the global auto‑parts marketplace. You will work with a talented, distributed team to solve complex, mission‑critical problems in a fast‑growing $1.9 trillion industry.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mission‑critical systems for our core SaaS and API platform.
• Ensure features are highly scalable, fault‑tolerant, and accurate.
• Deliver a great experience for businesses using the Partly platform.
• Share and champion software best practices across the engineering team.
• Become an expert in the auto‑parts domain and contribute to product strategy.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building complex applications.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals (data structures, concurrency, architecture, testing, design patterns).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Rust (preferred).
• Experience with relational databases and NoSQL data models.
• Building reliable, distributed systems.
• Designing and implementing robust APIs.
