Senior Manager – Governance & Framework

About the role

The Senior Manager, Governance & Framework will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of non‑financial risk (NFR) governance across ANZ's New Zealand division. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure risk frameworks align with Group standards, regulatory expectations and the division’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Design, embed and continuously improve NFR governance frameworks, forums and decision‑making structures.
• Oversee divisional risk appetite statements, risk taxonomy alignment and related governance processes.
• Aggregate and synthesize risk, control and assurance insights from business units, centres of excellence and testing functions.
• Coordinate risk assessment processes and monitor material risks against the division’s risk appetite.
• Provide high‑quality, decision‑ready insights to senior leadership and governance committees.
• Support business‑unit risk spokes, drive standardisation and facilitate workflow.
• Act as a trusted Line 1 risk partner to senior leaders, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
• Coach and uplift governance and reporting team members.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in non‑financial risk governance within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong analytical ability to aggregate complex risk information and produce actionable insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior business leaders.
• Deep understanding of regulatory expectations, risk appetite frameworks and Group risk standards.
• Demonstrated capability to drive cultural change and embed risk‑aware behaviours.
