Senior Management Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant to lead our internal budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting processes. The role acts as a trusted business partner for budget managers and senior leaders across assigned business units, providing accurate costing and specialised financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive and responsive financial advice to budget managers.
• Lead and coach the Management Accounting team in preparing internal budgets, forecasts and monthly management reports.
• Partner with senior leaders to develop annual budgets and re‑forecasts.
• Prepare monthly reporting, commentary and consolidated year‑to‑date financial results for the Executive Leadership Team.
• Produce quarterly financial reports for the Minister.
• Assist managers in preparing business cases and budget bids.

Required profile

• Strong experience working with financial management systems.
• High level of business acumen and ability to build partnerships with senior managers.
• Tertiary qualification in accountancy.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) membership with CA ANZ or equivalent preferred.
