Senior Guidewire Developer – Production Support

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Guidewire Developer to join IAG’s BAU Production Support team in Christchurch. In this hands‑on position you will ensure the stability and performance of our Guidewire platforms while mentoring junior developers and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own production stability of Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter and ClaimCenter, leading incident response and root‑cause analysis.
• Manage and optimise Guidewire configurations, business rules, integrations and APIs to deliver scalable solutions.
• Identify systemic issues and implement automation, performance tuning and process simplification.
• Provide technical leadership, influence stakeholders and balance risk, cost and customer outcomes.
• Champion Agile and DevOps practices, mentor the team and foster a culture of accountability and learning.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter or ClaimCenter) in a production support environment.
• Strong expertise in incident management, root‑cause analysis and large‑scale troubleshooting.
• Proven track record of driving automation and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Ability to lead technically, influence stakeholders and make pragmatic decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
