Security Analyst – Remote Contract ($70–$90/hr)

About the role

Mercor is seeking experienced cybersecurity experts to join a remote, contract‑based team focused on AI model threat detection. You will work asynchronously with other specialists to analyze content for security vulnerabilities and develop classification patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review AI‑related content for security vulnerabilities, emphasizing pattern recognition and classification.
• Apply systems‑programming and security expertise to improve AI model threat detection and reasoning.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team of domain experts.
• Design, solve, and review challenging, real‑world security problems.
• Maintain independent work habits and flexible hours to meet project milestones.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
• Familiarity with vulnerability classification frameworks such as OWASP or CVE.
• Solid understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, including web security and common attack vectors.
• Strong attention to detail and pattern‑recognition abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Residency in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
