Retail Truck Driver

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Retail Truck Driver to join our team at Te Omanga Hospice. In this permanent, full‑time position you will ensure the safe and efficient transportation of furniture and goods for our retail stores, supporting donors and customers throughout the Hutt Valley.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses on behalf of our retail stores.
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate the delivery vehicle safely.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in good working condition and keep them tidy.
• Provide reliable, timely and professional service to donors and customers.
• Resolve customer issues promptly while preserving dignity and privacy.
• Observe occupational health and safety requirements at all times.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in customer service.
• Physically capable of handling items up to 25 kg using approved equipment.
• Well‑organised with a common‑sense approach.
• Empathetic and respectful communication style.

Required skills

• Full Class A driver’s licence (clean).
• Competent computer skills for logging deliveries and inspections.
