Retail Sales Team Member

About the role

Join the Ponsonby store of Mitre 10 as a Retail Sales Team Member. This full‑time position involves helping customers find DIY and home‑improvement solutions while keeping the store tidy and well‑stocked.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers, understand their needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and perform merchandising tasks, including light stepladder work.
• Assist across multiple departments and perform general shop duties to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Occasionally operate the till during busy periods or staff breaks.
• Work a 40‑hour week, including one weekend day, and contribute to a positive team culture.

Required profile

• Knowledge of DIY and home‑improvement products.
• Previous retail experience with confidence in customer engagement.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Physical strength and fitness for merchandising tasks.
• Positive, solution‑focused personality and a desire to learn and grow.
