Relationship Associate – Business Banking (Canterbury)

About the role

The Relationship Associate supports Relationship Managers in delivering banking solutions that simplify customers' financial lives. Based in Canterbury, you will work within a high‑performing Business Banking team, gaining exposure to credit risk, relationship management and analytical tasks. This fixed‑term position is designed for emerging talent with the ambition to progress into full Relationship Management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to customers, understand their business needs and translate them into appropriate banking solutions.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, senior managers and product partners to design and deliver tailored proposals.
• Assist with financial analysis and interpretation of customer data to support accurate credit decisions.
• Help maintain and grow the customer portfolio by building strong relationships and providing effective solutions.
• Provide insights that enable customers to succeed and connect with internal and external stakeholders to create a network of advocates.

Required profile

• Experience in a customer‑facing role that involved building strong relationships.
• Strong analytical ability to assess financial trends and implications.
• Tertiary qualification in a financial discipline or prior experience in lending/finance.
• Understanding of security arrangements and structuring.
• Previous exposure to the banking or finance industry is preferred.
