Registered Nurse – Wellington Intensive Service (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a permanent Registered Nurse to join our Wellington Intensive Service, providing specialist care to clients with acquired brain injuries and related neurological conditions. The role involves working a rotating roster of day, evening, weekend and awake‑night shifts within a 24/7 multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to clients with complex cognitive and medical needs.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage medication administration.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other team members to implement individualized rehabilitation programmes.
• Support clients’ families/whānau and involve them in care planning.
• Participate in shift handovers and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Required profile

• At least 2 years postgraduate experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current New Zealand practising certificate.
• Experience in neurology, brain injury, stroke rehabilitation or related rehabilitation settings is preferred.
• Strong commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and flexible shift work.
