Registered Nurse – Ward (Full‑time, Private Hospital)

About the role

Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join its private surgical ward on a full‑time, permanent basis. You will care for patients undergoing orthopaedic, urology, gynaecology and general surgery procedures, supporting them from admission through discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care across multiple surgical specialties on a rotating roster.
• Coordinate patient admissions, assessments, treatment plans and discharge processes.
• Collaborate closely with medical specialists, allied health professionals and support staff to ensure safe, culturally respectful care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and monitor patient progress.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Current New Zealand Registered Nurse practising certificate.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in surgical settings such as orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology or general surgery.
• Previous ward experience with the ability to work flexibly across specialties.
• Strong clinical assessment and care‑coordination capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to culturally responsive care.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
• Private‑healthcare experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
