About the role

Join the North West Maternity Services as a Registered Midwife and provide comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care across a range of hospital and community settings in North West Tasmania. You will work in a supportive environment that values women‑centred care, professional collaboration, and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care in the North West Regional Hospital, Mersey Community Hospital and outreach clinics.
• Manage a 4‑bed birthing suite, 20‑bed inpatient ward, and an 8‑bed special care nursery.
• Provide dedicated lactation support and coordinate with allied health professionals such as social workers, physiotherapists, and diabetes specialists.
• Participate in parenting education classes and community‑based postnatal assessments.
• Contribute to perinatal mental health initiatives and extended care midwifery services for women discharged home.
