Regional Manager – Canterbury & Tasman

About the role

The Regional Manager will own a large multi‑site operation across Canterbury and Tasman, leading several business divisions to drive growth, performance and operational excellence. This senior leadership position balances strategic planning with hands‑on management, building high‑performing teams and strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop Operations Managers, Supervisors and their teams across multiple sites.
• Drive consistent performance, accountability and safety culture throughout the region.
• Identify and implement improvement, efficiency and growth opportunities.
• Maintain and grow relationships with customers, councils and key stakeholders.
• Oversee financial performance, including budgeting and profitability.
• Champion health, safety and environmental outcomes.
• Maintain effective systems, processes and reporting.
• Lead change initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Contribute to regional strategy and long‑term planning.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in operational, transport, waste, logistics or service‑based industries.
• Strong track record of leading other leaders, such as Operations Managers and Supervisors.
• People‑first leadership style with excellent influencing and engagement abilities.
• Solid commercial and financial acumen.
• Experience managing multi‑site or complex operational environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Good understanding of health, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on operational leadership.
