QC Laboratory Technician

About the role

This is an 18‑month fixed‑term position based in Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. You will work in a quality‑focused QC laboratory supporting the safe, effective and compliant release of intermediate and final products for a global animal health manufacturing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform, document and coordinate routine laboratory assays in accordance with SOPs and Good Documentation Practice.
• Monitor assay performance, manage reagent inventories and ensure equipment is calibrated and validated.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping, conduct inspections and keep equipment in operational condition.
• Investigate unusual assay outcomes, report events and support corrective actions and CAPAs.
• Peer‑review work of team members, develop and update SOPs and worksheets where trained.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a QC, laboratory or quality‑focused manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of SOPs, GLP and Good Documentation Practice.
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy and ability to plan workload.
• Good communication, teamwork skills and willingness to undertake training.
