Project/Programme Coordinator - Ōtara, Auckland

About the role

Transpower owns and operates New Zealand's National Grid, the high-voltage transmission network connecting generation areas with towns and cities. Its Grid Delivery team manages about $700M in annual capital and $150M in maintenance expenditure, and its national Project Support team supports over 70 Project Managers and Programme Managers. This role is based in Ōtara, Auckland, and provides end-to-end support to Grid Delivery Project Managers, coordinating activities across multiple projects.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the key point of contact for project coordination, information and administration across the project lifecycle, supporting multiple project professionals
• Coordinate with Project Managers and the finance team on financial management, including project forecasting, invoicing, accruals and variance reporting
• Monitor and analyse project reports and performance metrics
• Contribute to continuous improvement and identify opportunities for greater efficiency

Required profile

• Administrator or coordinator with project coordination experience
• Excellent organisational, coordination and administrative skills, able to manage competing priorities
• Sound financial acumen and familiarity with financial management systems
• Experience (or strong interest) in project or programme coordination
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and exceptions
• Positive, practical mindset, attention to detail and comfort with context switching
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office and Office 365, Excel
• Ideally Microsoft Project or Oracle/SAP
• Nice to have: documentation of business processes, procedures or training materials, and a project management qualification such as CAPM, PMP or PRINCE2
