Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead planning, delivery and risk management across key justice‑related programmes, including the establishment of a new firearms regulator. This 12‑month fixed‑term role is fast‑paced and suited to candidates who thrive in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex project planning, reporting and governance for public‑sector programmes.
• Coordinate multi‑faceted workstreams, ensuring alignment with programme goals and efficient resource use.
• Manage risk, monitor progress and produce regular status reports for senior decision‑makers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support effective decision‑making through robust governance structures.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale, complex projects, preferably in a public policy or government setting.
• Relevant qualification in project management or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of public‑sector systems, processes and accountabilities.
• Collaborative, inclusive and politically astute approach to relationship management.

• Project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
