Solicitor / Senior Solicitor – Real Estate

About the role

Russell McVeagh is seeking a Solicitor or Senior Solicitor to join its market‑leading Real Estate team in Wellington. You will work on high‑profile transactions for sophisticated investors, developers and corporate owners across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on Crown matters and Public Works Act acquisitions.
• Draft and negotiate commercial leases, property development agreements and major subdivision plans.
• Advise on hotel management arrangements, agricultural and forestry sector transactions.
• Support domestic and overseas funds, property institutions and corporate occupiers throughout project lifecycles.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience practising real‑estate law in New Zealand.
• Background in private practice with a strong understanding of property law.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in the property sector.
