Project Manager – Commercial Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of commercial new‑build and refurbishment projects in the stunning town of Wanaka. You will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards while enjoying the lifestyle this region offers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of commercial construction projects from planning through to completion.
• Develop, manage and monitor construction programmes against key milestones.
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure seamless execution.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting and maintain positive cash flow.
• Assess and manage contract variations and produce accurate monthly reports.
• Maintain project documentation, company systems and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental best practices.
• Build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders through proactive communication.

Required profile

• 5+ years’ experience managing commercial or high‑end architectural builds.
• Strong commercial and financial management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, planning and communication abilities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with meticulous attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge of New Zealand construction methodologies and contracts.
• A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline is preferred, though extensive industry experience is also considered.
