Project Engineer – Powder Handling

About the role

Join Tetra Pak's Powder Handling team in Hamilton as a Project Engineer. You will lead the design, implementation and commissioning of milk‑powder projects, working closely with clients to turn concepts into fully realised solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine concept designs, manage budget estimates and client communications.
• Create detailed mechanical engineering drawings, P&IDs, fabrication layouts and mechanical schematics for powder handling equipment.
• Prepare as‑built drawings and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Participate in on‑site installation, commissioning and validation activities, including travel to offshore sites.
• Support cost management using SAP and ensure compliance with process technology standards.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of engineering experience in powder food process design or related fields.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Process Engineering, NZCE registration.
• Strong autonomous work ethic and project management capability.
• Hands‑on experience with project implementation and validation.
