Production Supervisor

About the role

Laminex New Zealand is launching a modern, high‑output manufacturing plant in Taupō. We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead a shift team in a safety‑critical environment, ensuring daily production targets are met while fostering a Zero Harm culture.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee shift reporting, share production insights and train new staff on safe operating procedures.
• Champion Zero Harm by managing hazards, incidents and safety actions promptly.
• Act as escalation point for plant issues, major stoppages and operational disruptions.
• Conduct pre‑start and post‑production equipment checks, coordinating with Engineering and Maintenance.
• Lead, coach and develop shift teams, ensuring SOP compliance, role rotation and training completion.
• Manage rosters, labour allocation and timesheets accurately.
• Complete end‑of‑shift reports and analyse production data using BPCS, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, support daily leadership meetings and maintain clear communication across the team.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of frontline supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong health & safety leadership with a hands‑on approach.
• Logical, structured problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• High attention to detail and solid numerical reasoning.
• Proven capability to lead experienced teams through clear direction and timely intervention.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience using BPCS (manufacturing execution system).
