Procurement Manager

About the role

Babcock is looking for a dynamic Procurement Manager to turn strategy into action and ensure projects are delivered with commercial strength, operational efficiency, and strong governance. The role bridges strategic direction and day‑to‑day procurement activities, supporting both immediate project delivery and long‑term business success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of sourcing strategies, contract solutions and supplier management across the full lifecycle of procurement.
• Translate strategic direction into operational delivery, ensuring value‑adding, risk‑mitigating procurement.
• Oversee supplier performance, implement relationship‑management frameworks and support Supplier Quality Management initiatives.
• Manage financial liabilities, pricing structures, invoice discrepancies and commercial frameworks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Commercial and Program Delivery teams to integrate procurement with project plans and policies.
• Design and refine procurement processes, templates and tools for consistent contract delivery.
• Identify and manage commercial, operational and safety risks, ensuring compliance with Australasian legal standards and internal governance.
• Manage and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing coaching, performance feedback and recruitment support.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and provide analysis and reporting to inform decision‑making.

Required profile

• Experienced procurement professional with a strong background in end‑to‑end sourcing processes.
• Proven ability to lead high‑performing supplier partnerships and manage complex contracts.
• Knowledge of Australasian legal standards, internal governance and industry regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and developing procurement teams.
