Procurement Category Manager

About the role

Walter & Wild is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing for some of New Zealand's most loved FMCG brands. Based permanently on‑site in Mangere Bridge, Auckland, you will join a small, high‑performing team and make a tangible commercial impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies that drive cost efficiency and value creation.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Analyse spend data and market trends to identify opportunities for savings and innovation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including marketing, finance, and operations, to align procurement initiatives with business objectives.
• Monitor performance metrics and report on category results to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, category management or strategic sourcing, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Results‑driven mindset with a focus on delivering measurable commercial impact.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
