Processing Officer - On Call

About the role

New Zealand Post is hiring an on-call Processing Officer for its Taranaki branch in New Plymouth. On-call staff are called in as and when required to help sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels and freight so that couriers can deliver them. The work is done between Monday and Friday, 15:00 and 18:30, and is paid $26.75 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels and freight at the Taranaki branch
• Work on call as and when required, covering illness, extended leave or peak delivery periods
• Start earlier or finish later during peak times when needed

Required profile

• Available to work on call hours, as and when required (Mon-Fri 15:00-18:30)
• Flexible enough to start earlier or finish later during peak times
• Reliable transport to get to work on time
• Ability to lift up to 25kg for a physically demanding role
• Good geographical knowledge and attention to detail
• Committed to keeping yourself, others and the site safe
