Processing Officer – Night Shift (Hamilton)

About the role

The Processing Officer works in the Hamilton Operations Centre to sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels and freight for NZ Post’s courier network. This is a permanent night‑shift position (9:00 pm – 5:30 am, Monday‑Friday) that keeps the flow of deliveries moving across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Sort incoming parcels and freight according to destination and service level.
• Consolidate items into dispatch loads ready for courier pickup.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure parcels are correctly labelled.
• Lift and move items up to 25 kg while following safe‑handling procedures.
• Support site safety initiatives and keep the work area clean and organised.

Required profile

• Available to work the night shift Monday‑Friday (9:00 pm – 5:30 am).
• Reliable transport to arrive on time.
• Physical stamina for a demanding role, including the ability to lift up to 25 kg.
• Strong attention to detail and good geographical knowledge.
• Previous night‑shift experience is preferred.
