Processing Officer – Mail Centre (Christchurch)

About the role

Join NZ Post’s Christchurch Mail Centre as a Processing Officer, where you’ll play a key part in sorting, consolidating and dispatching mail and small parcels for delivery across New Zealand. The role runs Monday to Thursday from midday until 7:30 pm in a safe, modern facility with free onsite parking.

Key responsibilities

• Sort incoming mail and parcels using automated and manual processes.
• Consolidate items for efficient dispatch to delivery routes.
• Operate sorting equipment and ensure it is maintained according to safety standards.
• Lift and move items up to 25 kg as required.
• Maintain accurate records and report any discrepancies.

Required profile

• Available to work the specified shift (Monday‑Thursday, midday‑7:30 pm).
• Physically able to lift up to 25 kg and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and good geographical knowledge of New Zealand.
• Commitment to health, safety and site security.
