Processing Officer – Forklift Operator (Night Shift)

About the role

Our team at NZ Post is looking for a Processing Officer to join the parcel and freight hub on Kaiwharawhara Road. You will work the early‑morning shift, helping to sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels so that couriers can deliver them across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a forklift for up to six hours per shift to move pallets and containers safely.
• Sort and consolidate parcels and freight according to destination and service level.
• Load sorted items onto outbound trucks and ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area while adhering to health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily dispatch targets.

Required profile

• Available to work Saturday to Wednesday mornings, 3 am‑9 am.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 25 kg and standing for extended periods.
• Committed to safety and able to follow OSH guidelines.
• Good geographical knowledge of the service area.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (certified).
• OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) certification.
• Valid restricted driver’s licence (or endorsed equivalent).
